Porter-Gaud head football coach Rick Reetz is leaving the program to become offensive coordinator at James Island High School, Sports 4 confirmed Sunday.

Reetz had been at Porter-Gaud for 10 seasons, where his teams compiled a 71-47 overall record, and twice played for SCISA 3A State Championship.

According to Reetz, the move fulfills for him a career goal of coaching at the state's highest level of prep football competition.

Reetz' assistant Stanton Seckinger, a former Clemson standout, is expected to make the move with him, along with other members of Reetz' current coaching staff.

At James Island, Reetz says in addition to coaching he's looking forward to teaching engineering.

Reetz will run the offense for James Island High's Ike Allred, head coach of the Trojans since 2014.
