Charleston resident and University of South Carolina graduate David Robinson was looking for a fun way to bond with his son, and honor the Gamecocks.

After a little thinking, David says choice was obvious. "I’ve always been a Carolina fan. I went to Carolina. I’ve been going to [William-Brice] Stadium since 1981. I’ve always had kind of a fascination with stadiums too. I don’t know what it is, just the structure of them."

The result of David and David Jr's efforts was a two-foot tall replica of Williams-Brice Stadium made up of more than 5,000 Lego pieces.

David says he had no idea what he was getting himself into, "there were a lot of times I’d get frustrated, or order the wrong piece, or the piece wouldn’t fit, and there were a few times I probably wanted to throw it down the steps.”

Despite occasional frustration, David is very satisfied with the results. "I wanted it very detailed, I wanted it as close as I could get, and I think I got it there.”
