Summerville Police have taken out an arrest warrant for a second person after a 2-year-old boy reportedly shot himself in the leg with his father's gun.

Police are looking for Teaeshia Avantia Angelica Kirkland for obstruction of justice after investigators say she gave misleading information about her involvement in the shooting.

Summerville PD says the child accidentally shot himself while sitting inside his father's vehicle Wednesday at The Gates of Summerville Apartments.

The boy reportedly retrieved the father's gun from the vehicle's center console and was handling it when the gun went off, striking the child in the leg.

The child suffered injuries that were not life threatening, police say. The father, Craig D. Williams, was arrested and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child and obstruction of justice following the shooting.

Police say Kirkland denied being at the scene of the incident and did not know any information about what happened. However, an affidavit shows Williams told officers he'd handed off the gun in the shooting to Kirkland after the incident.

If you have any information about this case, or know Kirkland's location, you're asked to contact Summerville Police at 843-285-7021.
