A 49-year-old woman was the person who died late Saturday night after a car crashed into a home in North Charleston.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office announced Monday that Stacey Greer Rowlett, of Mount Pleasant, was the victim.

According to Highway Patrol, Rowlett was killed shortly before midnight February 8 at a home on Attaway Street, which is off Remount Road.

State Troopers say an unknown driver went off the road, through a chain link fence, and then smashed through the exterior wall of the house at 5620 Attaway Street.

Afterward, the driver of the vehicle ran from the scene. As of Monday afternoon, the driver had not been found, and police had not released their identity.
