Man says he fatally shot brother after being attacked in Summerville home

A 53-year-old Summerville man was shot and killed by his brother Tuesday night, Sept. 10, according to 911 calls and a report from the Summerville Police Department.

Paul F. Rush died at the scene following a shooting incident along the 100 block of Salisbury Drive, Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers said.

Summerville Police responded to the shooting scene Tuesday night to investigate.

According to 911 calls obtained by ABC News 4, Robert Rush said he shot his brother after being attacked by him.

The property at the listed address for the incident was owned by Paul Rush, according to Dorchester County records.

He is scheduled to undergo an autopsy Thursday at the Medical University of South Carolina.

The incident remains under investigation. Officials stated that no charges have been filed at this time, but a police report said Robert Rush was detained at the scene.
