A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Dorchester County until 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service say the storm is located over Middleton Place, and that it's nearly stationary.
There is heavy rainfall with this storm, and, and it could cause flash flooding. Additionally, the storm is producing strong wind gusts up to 60 mph, and could drop quarter-size hail. The winds and hail could damage homes and cars.
Locations impacted include North Charleston, Summerville, Knightsville and Jedburg.
