A 75-year-old Clarendon County woman is in jail, charged with felony DUI, after S.C. Highway Patrol says she drunkenly drove her car into the back of a tractor on a rural road, killing the tractor's driver.

Elaine Maggs was arrested Friday and jailed at the Clarendon County Detention Center following the deadly wreck, according to Highway Patrol.

According to State Troopers, Maggs crashed into the back of a John Deere Tractor on Raccoon Road, near Manning, shortly after 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29.

Highway Patrol says the collision caused the tractor to go off the road, overturning. The driver, identified as Clezelle White, of Manning, later died at a local hospital as a result of his injuries, according to reports from several news outlets.

Maggs has been denied bond by a magistrate judge, according to a report by The Manning Times.
