North Charleston Police are asking for the public’s help locating a woman who may have given birth to a child Tuesday morning behind a local business.

NCPD spokesman Spencer Pryor says officers were called around 7 a.m. Tuesday to an area behind 5935 Rivers Avenue in reference to a witness reporting she saw a woman exit a construction trailer.

Police say the witness told them she saw blood in the area where the woman came from. Once there, officers reportedly saw discarded clothing, a lot of blood, and other evidence of a possible birth.

The woman police are searching for is described as white, in her late 30’s, with short blonde hair. She is approximately 5’04” and 185 lbs., according to a witness, police say. The woman was seen wearing a black shirt with green writing and black jogging pants.

Anyone with information should contact North Charleston Police at 843-740-2800.
