Hours after a man was reportedly stabbed to death while lying in bed at his Johns Island home, Charleston County authorities say they have arrested and charged a suspect.

Aloysius Hunter, 34, is in jail at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing on murder charges, according to Maj. Eric Watson with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

Hunter was arrested only hours after CCSO investigators say he entered a home on Angler Pond Road, and stabbed the man living there to death.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office says William L. Kennedy Jr., a 51 year old white male, died as a result of a stab wound on Wednesday, December 7.

Kennedy was pronounced dead on scene.

The incident was first reported at 3:40 a.m.

Hunter's bond hearing will be on Thursday, Dec. 7 --- his birthday --- at 10 a.m., sheriff's office officials say.
