Faye Swetlik, a 6-year-old girl from South Carolina missing for three days, has been found dead, according to authorities.

Byron Snellgrove, Director of Public Safety for the City of Cayce, announced Faye's death on Thursday afternoon.

Snellgrove also said investigators discovered a dead male in their search for Faye.

Faye's death is being investigated as a homicide, Snellgrove said.

Swetlik had been missing since Monday afternoon, February 10, from her home in the Churchill Heights neighborhood of Cayce, near Columbia.

On Thursday night, the Lexington County Coroner's Office said her body was found in that same neighborhood.

An autopsy will take place at MUSC in Charleston on Saturday.

The Cayce Department of Public Safety and SLED are continuing to investigate the death.
