Faye Swetlik, 6-yr-old Columbia area girl, still missing; Search now exceeds 24 hours

Original Report, Tuesday, Feb. 11 — It's now been 24 hours since anyone has seen or heard from 6-year-old Faye Swetlik, who authorities say is missing from her home in the Columbia, South Carolina area.

Swetlik was last seen Monday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. playing outside her home in the Churchill Heights neighborhood in the city of Cayce, which is in Lexington County.

Cayce city leaders and law enforcement gave an update on their search efforts and investigation Tuesday at 5 p.m. See officials' comments from that press conference in the video player above.

Approximately 250 federal, state and local law enforcement agents have been searching for Faye Swetlik since late Monday afternoon. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and pink polka dot rain boots.

No information about her possible whereabouts or the circumstances of her disappearance have been released.
