Deputies investigate deadly Walterboro shooting on Francis Street; manhunt subjects caught

Colleton County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a reported shooting along Francis Street in Walterboro Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m., according to CCSO spokesperson Shalane Lowes.

Deputies are investigating the possibility the shooting incident is related to a law enforcement pursuit that ended a few blocks away near Cleveland Street and Pine Needle Road around 12 p.m.

Two "armed and dangerous" black male suspects jumped out of a vehicle following a short pursuit and were last seen on foot in the area of Cleveland, Pine Needle and Jackson Street, the sheriff's office says.

The sheriff's office says the two suspects were taken into custody shortly before 5 p.m.
