A Charleston teenager was killed and two others were injured Saturday, May 11, when an off-road vehicle crashed in Williamsburg County.

Sarah Klein, 15, of Charleston, died from injuries suffered in the UTV wreck, Williamsburg County Deputy Coroner William Horton confirmed Monday.

According to Horton, Klein and two other teens were riding on the UTV (aka, "side-by-side") on private property off Hwy. 521 near Andrews when the incident occurred.

The utility vehicle rolled over with the teens aboard, Horton says. Klein was not wearing a seatbelt or helmet, although the vehicle was equipped with seatbelts, according to Horton.

The two other girls involved in the wreck were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the wreck.

The wreck remains under investigation.
