The man accused of dropping his pants in front of a young girl in a Summerville Walmart has been issued a $25,000 bond.

Jacob Brooks, 17, of St. George was arrested on Tuesday and charged with indecent exposure.

According to police, Brooks was in the Main Street Walmart on Jan. 7 when he whispered to a 7-year-old girl to come closer. When she did, Brooks pulled out his penis, police said.

The girl's mother said her daughter had just climbed out of the shopping cart when the man whispered to her.

It's a trip to Walmart Jamie Durham won't forget.

“She said ‘Mom, mom, I’m scared of that guy.’ And I said, ‘What?’" Durham recalled. "And she said, ‘Mom, he showed me his thing.’”

Durham says she grabbed her daughter, put her back in the cart and ran after the man -- but he got away.

It wasn't until this week police arrested Brooks.

During the bond hearing, Durham told the judge she wanted no mercy shown to Brooks as tears streamed down her face.

“I feel like my daughter was robbed of her innocence that day. I feel that he is a danger because he’s done this before," she said, adding she was worried Brooks had done this before. “Imagine what he’s gotten away with and not gotten caught with -- I just feel like people like this only get worse they don’t get better.”

Durham says her daughter is brave for telling her about the incident the moment it happened.

She says it's a reminder for parents everywhere.

“You literally have to have your hand on your child going through the store because it happens that quick," Durham said.

Before the bond hearing ended Tuesday night, the judge told Brooks he cannot have contact with anyone under the age of 16, and he has to stay away from libraries, daycares, and playgrounds.

Brooks is being tried as an adult. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison.
